About National Zoological Park

Possessing an area of 176 acres Delhi Zoo is located in the heart of the city near the Old Fort, and houses about 1350 animal species and 130 bird species from around the globe to offer you a unique opportunity to discover the animals. The idea of the Delhi Zoo came in 1952 and a committee was created by the Indian Board of Wildlife to analyze the facts to open a zoo. Carl Hagenbeck of Germany was hired to design the zoo and plan accordingly.
Delhi Zoo Timings and Ticket Price
National Zoological Park timings vary in April and October and opens at 9.00 AM from 1st April to 15 October and closes at 4.30 PM. From 16 October to 31st March, it opens at 9.30 AM and closes at 4.00 PM.

- Tap on “Buy Tickets”
- Enter your phone number and the captcha given.
- Now provide your name, age, gender, and email ID
- Enter the OTP received
- Provide the details about all visitors.
- Make payment and keep tickets saved on your phone.
Once saved, you can show the soft copy of the ticket or can take a printout to show the hard copy of the ticket.
